The Rock Salt is operated by WasatchWise LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.
Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you provide. When you create an account, submit a band profile, upload music, list an event, or contact us, you provide us with information such as your name, email address, and any content you submit.
- Information collected automatically. When you use the site, we collect standard usage data including pages visited, referring URLs, browser type, and IP address. We use cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and analytics.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To display band profiles, events, and submitted content on the platform
- To process payments via Stripe
- To send transactional emails related to your account or submissions
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs data you provide during checkout.
- Google Analytics — site analytics
- AzuraCast — live audio streaming
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
User Content
Content you submit (band profiles, music, photos, event listings) is displayed publicly on the platform. You retain ownership of your content. By submitting content, you grant WasatchWise LLC a license to display and distribute it as part of The Rock Salt service.
Salt Rocks
Salt Rocks is an in-platform currency with no cash value and no redemption for real money. Balance information is stored in your account.
Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. Utah residents have additional rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA).
Children
The Rock Salt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
